It all started with a baby shower. Yvette, working as a waitress, never imagined she’d become an event planner. But when she and a friend were asked to help, creativity sparked. Though she thought she had no clue about event planning, Yvette quickly discovered her knack for it. As they set up, people began asking about their services. That’s when the lightbulb went off: Yvette had a gift.

She dabbled in fashion design, worked at a radio station, even tried accounting, but event planning kept pulling her back. Balloon decor became her specialty, with calls coming in from all over New York for arches and columns. Her passion grew, and an opportunity to intern with an established event company opened her eyes. Soon, Yvette transformed from the “Balloon Princess” to a full-service decorator, running a one-woman show.

But after years of hustling on her own, Yvette had bigger dreams—a space of her own. Her husband, Jason, who’d always been the muscle behind the scenes, surprised her by stepping into a creative role. With his carpentry skills and newfound passion, Jason became the “Drape King,” designing stunning drapery, building props, and capturing it all as the in-house photographer and videographer.

Now, as co-owners of House of Sky Event Planners, Yvette and Jason are a dynamic team, turning ordinary events into extraordinary experiences. With over 20 years together, they’ve built a powerhouse business, fueled by passion, creativity, and a love for bringing dreams to life.
